My Story

We all have different backgrounds and experiences that inform "who we are" so let me tell you a bit about myself.  I was born and raised in New Zealand where I completed a Masters Degree in Psychology and began my clinical practice.  I moved to America more than 20 years ago, where I earned a Post-Masters Certificate in Couples and Family Therapy and a Ph.D. in Social Work. Clinically, I have more than 25 years of experience helping people who are struggling with relationships due to family stressors and adjustments (e.g., beginning new relationships, new schools, new family members, going to college, ending relationships), anxiety, or depression. I am trained in psychodynamic psychotherapy, Systems Therapies, Narrative therapies, CBT, DBT, ACT and trauma therapies. My approach to therapy is relational and in-depth.  I particularly enjoy helping three populations: women who struggle with feelings of "will I ever be good enough?"and connecting with their true selves; college students beginning their life's journey and immigrants facing the challenges of life in a new culture.
